PLRA–FBR Integrated System for Sale Registration
New Procedure has been Effective Across Punjab from 26 August 2026
For registrations made after 25 August 2026, it will be mandatory to generate the FBR Challan through the e-Registration Portal. However, FBR Challans issued before 25 August 2026 and already used will remain acceptable.
Procedure for Sale Registration
Step 1 — Obtain Online e-Stamp Challan
Obtain the e-Stamp Challan online for the relevant transaction.
Step 2 — Challan Verification
The e-Stamp Challan will be verified and used in the registration system.
Step 3 — Registration Details
The required information and details of the parties will be entered/processed through the digital registration system.
Step 4 — FBR Information Integration
The registration system will provide the relevant information, including CNIC details and other required information, to the FBR system.
Step 5 — Automatic Tax Calculation
The FBR system will automatically calculate the applicable tax according to the relevant transaction and applicable tax provisions.
Step 6 — FBR Challan Generation
The relevant FBR challan will be generated through the integrated system:
- Section 236C — Seller
- Section 236K — Buyer
Step 7 — Payment Through PSID
The applicable FBR tax can be paid through the PSID (Payment Slip ID) generated by the system.
What Will Change Under the New System?
The new system will connect the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) through an integrated digital mechanism.
The purpose is to make the sale-registration process more transparent, efficient and digitally integrated, while reducing manual intervention and ensuring that the relevant registration and tax information is properly connected.
Important for Property Buyers and Sellers
Property buyers, sellers, lawyers, deed writers, property dealers and other persons involved in registration matters should be aware of this new procedure and ensure that the required e-Stamp and FBR challan processes are completed through the prescribed portal.
